When I moved to M1, I started from scratch, and only installed a selection of my plugins that were supported and required, rather than just everything I collected over the past decade or whatever, and I haven't really had any compatibility issues at all - that's what I would recommend transitioning from an Intel Mac to an M1. You can perform either a basic install or clean install on updating. It sounds like you've likely got tens or more old plugins which will never work on a modern mac, so instead of blanket installing all your old ones onto a brand new system, you'd have done better only installing the newer stuff that is supported, and leaving the old stuff that won't work, or may cause issues, uninstalled, and you'll get a much smoother experience. Indeed - confused about 32 Lives on a Monterey M1 Mac - since the whole point of 32 Lives is to use 32-bit plugins, which can't work from Catalina onwards as Apple removed all the 32-bit frameworks, I'm not even sure why you have this installed (or have installed wrapped 32-bit plugins), as it/they won't work at all. 32 Lives was in beta for several months last year, as the team fine-tuned its compatibility with a range of older plug-ins and instruments. Also, I had to create a new account (my oldone was "adinfinitum" Luckily, the good people at Sound Radix have been hard at work on a solution in the form of a 32-bit-to-64-bit Audio Unit adaptor. Since I have no idea where the issue is, I don't know what folders to not include to make MA work.Īny ideas would be appreciated as always. MY Mac said try Migration Assistant but that didn't work because of lack of space. Now, when I tried to restore my MBP, I can't because of the two different backups in TM. But, I forgot to remove the HD so the Mac Studio started backing up. ![]() Of course, I had a time machine backup of my MBP that I used to migrate to my new Mac Studio. Unfortunately, updating to the M1 has been the typical "nothing is backwards compatible" Apple torture. There are no additional windows to open and no redundant routings to make. Running latest Monterey on MBP M1 using Rosetta 2.ĭo we really have to go through this crap every year with MacOSX updates? I stayed on Mojave 10.4 just to keep my previous 32bit plugins and it's stability. 32 LIVES is a transparent 32-bit to 64-bit Audio Units and VST plug-ins adapter which enables you to run your favorite 32-bit-only plug-ins, such as Vanguard, VB3 and TC PowerCore plug-ins, in your latest 64-bit DAW. The AV window to check the status of the authorization is not there so I have no idea which p,ugin (seems like it is reviewing 10 plugins but Logic Refuses to "name names." Zipped 10.7.5 then tried reloading 10.7.4 and this also now locks up during plugin authorizations. Logic then started auvtool for the 3,000 plugins (some were 32Lives or VSTs or older Waves 10/11.) Plugin authorization never completed despite having the System Authorzation opened and approving plugin installations. ![]() I backed up 10.7.4 then updated to 10.7.5. ![]()
